Environmental
Concerns
Besides saving you tons of gas
money... why else drive an EV? ...well at the risk of stating the
obvious, here are a few facts every potential EV owner should know
about EVs and how they relate to our present world...
-
While an EV operates, there are
NO emissions therefore...
-
EVs help decrease air pollution
-
Two methods of minimizing the
air pollution from gas-powered automobiles are:
-
Cleaning up the fuel or source
of energy.
-
Improving their efficiency to minimize the
pollutants per mile.
-
Electric Vehicles (EVs) use
both methods. It is more efficient to clean up the emissions at a
single power plant than thousands of automobile exhausts. In
addition, EVs are more energy efficient when compared to their
internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart.
-
More than 100 areas of our
country will be required to control air pollutants
-
More than 50% of the U.S. population live in
areas which exceed the ozone standard
-
EVs help with our continued
ozone problem
-
EVs will help us become less
dependent on oil usage >
-
Our oil consumption increases
about 60% every five years statistically
-
Yet domestic oil production is
decreasing every year
-
Clearly we must find an alternative fuel - our
most tangible hope is the Electric Vehicle
Remember... Ride Clean,
Drive Electric!
